The beam-to-column T-stub connection joints are comprised two short T-stub located on upper and lower flange of the beam and frame by high strength bolts. It shows that it has simple joint construction, definite force, convenient installation and good economic benefit, and is seen to be a most stiffness semi-rigid connection type. It also has good seismic performance of semi-rigid joint, and there have been many successful applications in engineering. But the research of beam-to-column T-stub connections is minor at home and abroad, especially studying on the mechanical behaviors of semi-rigid steel frames T-stub connection joint under cyclic load is an urgent demand. It has done quasi static experiments on the beam-to-column T-stub connections under low reversed cyclic load in this paper, considering the influence on the hysteresis properties of connection joint with the factors including the thickness of T-stub section, the size of column section and beam section and the arrangement and diameter of bolts in the T-stub flange, and has designed six full scale joint model to observe the hysteretic curves and failure mode of the joints directly. It establishes nonlinear finite element models of six specimens of the test by ABAQUS, and the results of numerical analysis results are correspond to the experiment results, making up the data that cannot be observed in the test. The paper makes analysis and discussion on experimental phenomena and destruction mechanism. Finally, deriving eight series finite element numerical simulation specimens on the basis of the benchmark specimen BASE of the test, and through the comparison of these specimens’ bearing performance under cyclic load, discussing the influence on the hysteresis properties of beam-to-column connections with single parameter changes such as the thickness of T-stub flange and web, the height of beam section, the thickness of column flange, diameter and grade of bolts, the strength of materials and friction coefficient of interface and so on. It shows that the size of the T-stub has great influence to the hysteretic performance of the connection joint, other factors are relatively small. Finally, according to the results of the tests and finite element numerical analysis, drawing some conclusions with the mechanical properties of the joints, it has important theoretical significance on the study of seismic performance of the beam-column T-stub connections, and it has a certain reference value to the seismic design of this kind of joints.
