The Design Of Soundscape Accents In Urban Open Public Spaces

Research and design of the landscape should be comprehensive multi-angle, and not just "visual" sense of the concept of a single dimension. But landscape perception research based on "hearing" perception evaluation, which is soundscape, has been extensively carried out at home and abroad. However, how to make the design more soundscape of enforceability is still the problem now. The concept of soundscape pieces is proposed in this paper on the theory of soundscape study, at the micro level study on the sound design of the landscape, so that the soundscape design applications can be more enforceable.By method of listening experiments, the sound of ripple, birdsong, bells, wind bell, insect noises, which is are sound of the typical soundscape, were added to different background noises in different sound pressure levels. Then they are subjective evaluated in the method of Semantic Differential from the acoustic comfort, naturalness, sound preferences, and interest to verify the acoustic soundscape pieces on the effectiveness of environmental improvement. Next, assumptions of principles of soundscape design is sketched based on musical aesthetic theory, and the variability,abundance and harmony of the soundscape is verified. By the validation methods of indoor listening experiments, variegated ripple and smooth ripple is compared on subjective evaluation, to discusse the changes of subjective evaluation effects. In addition, subjective evaluated on abundance and harmony is conveyed, by mixing the sound of ripple, birdsong, bells, wind bell, insect noises into two combination, three combination, four combination, five combination.The experimental results show that put the soundscape elements into the background noise can make a great improvement on sound environment comfortable and sound interesting and preference, and the ripple compared to other kinds of sound under different pressure levels and the background noises can make a perfect purpose. Compared to smooth ripple, variegated ripple have certain improvement in the comfort, naturalness, acoustic preferences and interesting aspect. In addition, in the experiment of sounds composition, the three combination is super to the two combination ,four combination and five combination comprehensively in variability , abundance and harmony. The sound after composition whoes sound preferences is more harmonious is better than others, so that the harmony is significant in the design of sondscape. Finally, the sound pieces design model is put forward, that is preliminary design, software synthesis of expected sound and objective subjective inspection and testing, and the should be modified time and again to get the ideal sound effects.
