Sound Masking Effective And Perception Evaluation In Open Plan Office

However, only to eliminate the interference of the office of the noise is not realistic, common practice is to improve the degree of speech privacy. This paper is the way by adding masking noise to improve the open office speech privacy degrees.A typical open plan office is chosen as the research object through literature analysis and field research, and its environmental characteristics of the sound is tested. Then in the architectural space, different sound pressure levels of different types of masking sound is selected in a different location, which is played back after recording in the laboratory. And the masking effect and the subjective perception of evaluation results are obtained by definition subjective and objective indices and the whole environmental "noise level"and the masking sound "Acceptable degree "and masking the interference of the sound level of Chinese language.Analysis: In the open office, the type and SPL of masking sound greatly impact the masking performance. In this study, 5 types of selected masking sound, synthesized by the Chinese language class language noise masking efficiency much higher than other types of masking sound, but also the highest cause of annoyance; running water sound of natural sound and steady-state Pink noise makes better performance in the sound masking signal types, with higher efficiency and lower annoyance. Meanwhile, the increase of the sound pressure level ratio language of sound to masking sound causes annoyance decrease. Finally, the quality of masking properties and construction space is also closely linked. With the early decay time indoors (EDT) increase, the efficiency of masking sound masking is improved, but the annoyance also gradually increases. When the EDT is smaller, more rhythmic sound of rushing water and the masking noise of pink noise whose band is [176.75Hz,5656 Hz] performes better, while the EDT is larger, more soothing sound of water and pink masking noise whose frequency bands is [353.5 Hz,5656 Hz] has a better performance.Finally, appropriate masking noise is added the to the office of proper architectural space, in order to achieve greater degree of speech privacy purposes in open plan office.
