Spiral bevel gears are used widely in the intersecting transmission for their smoothness in transmission, low noise, high carrying capacity and great contact ratio. However,because their tooth surface structure are complex, hard to process and adjust,they can't achieve complete interchangeable in the application process too, often must be matched processing, paired to use and difficult to replace, it makes accessories problemes more and more serious, which also give the user great cost in practical applications.Spiral bevel gears'digital is the key steps in the spiral bevel gears'closed-loop design technology, and reverse engineering technology is a branch of advanced manufacturing technology, it makes use of the material reference design in only entity without engineering drawings, through measuring equipment to get entity'3D data,and then reconstruct geometric model in three-dimensional software, finally get NC machining codes control CNC to process products. we can carry reverse engineering technological ideas to the spiral bevel gears'closed-loop design technology,reconstruct spiral bevel gear tooth surface with real tooth surfaces, which can provide precise models for contact simulation analysis and movement simulation analysis, meanwhile, also provide a basis for gear tooth modification, gear optimization design and NC machining.so,they have important academic value and use value.This paper's research contents and results are as follows:1.According to spiral bevel gears'digital technology requirements, gave the concrete implementation plans, reverse measurement—reverse analysis—real tooth face measurement - build models.2.According to the current situation of spiral bevel gears'reverse design, based on tooth shape lines and tooth profile line's measurement, reverse its design parameters and some processing parameters. Finished spiral bevel gears'feature lines reverse engineering, and obtained reverse data.3.Apply to the knowledge of gear meshing theory and differential geometry based on bevel gear design and processing,deducing the oretical tooth surface equation of spiral bevel gears,according to the principle of coordinate transformation to plan tooth face grid, and solve the three-dimensional coordinates of theoretical tooth face mesh.4.Use CNC measuring center, based on the theory coordinates of tooth face grid, measuring a pair of spiral bevel gears which have been rolled check,obtain real tooth face'3D coordinates and tooth surface error map.Use CATIA'powerful surface modeling capability, Reconstruct CAD which based the real tooth surface,finally complete spiral bevel gears'digital.5. Base on the contact analysis technology of spiral bevel gears, conduct TCA analysis for the digital gear,obtain the Contact path and the transmission error curve.
