This research is funded by the project in 2008 supported by National Natural Science Foundation of China (Authorized Number: 50735008). With the development of industrial in our country, especially in the aeronautics and astronautics, robot and automation. There are higher and higher demands for the performance and quality of the precision gear transmission. Aimed mainly at the high performance reducer,such as harmonic reducer, RV reducer and filtering reducer, etc, which is used in space environment fields such as aerospace, aviation and space robot, a set of performance test system is designed and developed. This system is used to test comprehensive performances of the high-performance reducer under atmospheric environment or the space environment with vacuum and high-low temperature. The test can provide the scientific basis for high-performance reducer to be further studied and applied. The major researches in this paper are listed as following:①The domestic and foreign research and development trends of test-bed for testing performance of high-performance reducer and space environment test are introduced, then the rientations of the study and research are determined.②The transmission properties of high-performance reducer and the items of testing comprehensive performance are analyzed, and the experimental methods of comprehensive performance test are studied. Then, according to the test items and the functions needed to realized, the overall structure of the comprehensive performance test-bed is designed.③According to the overall structure designed for the test, the main functional modules are designed,such as the servo control system, test system, environment simulation system, etc. Then the appropriate test equipment and devices are chosen, and the mechanical transmission comprehensive performance test platform is established.④According to the requirements of thermal vacuum environment test, the key structure parts for achieving thermal vacuum environment is designed, which is named hot vacuum simulation container. Then the strength of vacuum tank is checked and the statics of vacuum are analysed by using finite element method. And then the suction-time of vacuum suction system is calculated and verified⑤The comprehensive performances of filtering reducer are tested under atmospheric environment, including transmission precision, transmission efficiency, return difference, start torque, stiffness and backlash, etc, and the test methods in the vacuum and high-low temperature space simulated environment are proposed. Then the suction- time of low-vacuum pump and high-vacuum pump is validated by experiment, and then the performance of regulating temperature and pressure for test-bed are tested, and the variation curves of pressure and temperature with time in the vacuum tank are obtained.
