As market competition intensified, the mass production mode of traditional MTO (make-to-order) enterprise trends to varieties, small batch production mode gradually. This tendency makes enterprises change the traditional mode urgently to improve the enterprise management and working level. In recent years, along with depth research and application of the enterprise informatization, some advanced management systems, such as ERP, MES, in order to management the enterprise's marketing, finance, planning, workshop manufacturing process have been implemented successfully in more and more enterprises. However, on the aspect of produce assistant tools management, many enterprises have not paid sufficient attention. The traditional production tool management less associated of the production planning and scheduling of enterprise. With the further competition of market being aggravated, in order to achieve the maximization production benefit in the condition of the limited resources, it is significant to consider and study how to combined production planning with tools scheduling in order that produce assistant tools can be delivered to production site on time.In the paper, management mode of production assistant tools for mechanical processing workshop is researched. Establish a shop assistant tools demand planning mode, simultaneously according to workshop management features of the site auxiliary tool, a kind of distribution management model of auxiliary tools is established, by which, making auxiliary tools in meet the premise of workshop production, represents the idea of putting the correct amount of production tools to the right site in the right time.Firstly, based on the MRP principle, through the way that binding auxiliary tools to process route, a kind of auxiliary tools demand planning mode is established. Also, the calculation of auxiliary tools demand plan according to the production plan logic is given, which determine the overall demand auxiliary tools.Secondly, according to the different of the requirements planning and auxiliary tools planning, combining site auxiliary tools characteristic, a kind of distribution management model of auxiliary tools is established. In this mode, combined workshop production scheduling and the basic data, the formulation method of tools punctual delivery planning and the solution of conflict between production task time and delivery time are researched, and priorities principle correspondingly is established as well. Meanwhile, the realization method of tools punctual delivery in production site is presented.Thirdly, some of these key technologies are researched. According to production plan and site operation, and the process route and the requirements of tools by NC code, the auxiliary tools dynamic distribution plan are established. Times and numbers of distribution can be reduced with adjustment of distribution by dynamic dispatching plan.Finally, according to the results of above study and analysis, the workshop site auxiliary tools management system is designed and its information model is established. Also, a set of production assistant tools management system is developed. And as a main part of configurable MES system developed by the research group author joined, the tool management system has been implemented successfully in some discrete manufacturing enterprise.
