The blast furnace gas generated in the Blast furnace process (BFG) and the waste heat steam generated in coke dry quenching process (CDQ) are very valuable secondary energy in the Iron and steel enterprises, the elution rate of blast furnace gas and waste heat steam is also an important assessment indicator of the energy systems, so full use of the secondary energy is the first choice for the company to do energy saving. The waste heat turbine generators are the matching equipment of CDQ boiler, which take on the task of waste heat power generation and pressure adjustment in the low pressure steam pipe. Once the turbine generators downtime occurs, the pressure steam bleeding and the steam pipe network pressure fluctuations will result in large economic losses.As waste heat turbine equipment management, the statistics in detail of the failures about two condensing units in recent years shows that shutdown caused by Vibration fault occupied a large proportion. Search for vibration fault mostly rely on the experience of managers and maintenance personnel, it is lack of targeted which resulting in a low success finding rate and waste of manpower and resources.For the above, this paper focuses on the research work carried out as follows:Firstly, some basic concepts of vibration and vibration feature extraction methods are introduced, the mechanism of vibration fault commonly or possibly happened on the waste heat unit are researched, the vibration characteristics of various typical faults are summed up.Secondly, establishing the fault classification hierarchy of waste heat unit according to the diagnosis method, and then establishing the knowledge element of the concept node and the diagnosis rule base of vibration fault taking vibration parameters as primary and thermal parameters as secondary. Fault recognition and treatment table are developed according to the habit of field staff and structural features of the unit, it is to improve the efficiency of fault-finding and treatment. Finally, the established vibration fault diagnosis rules are validated in the practical fault searching. It has been proved that the established vibration fault diagnosis rules and fault confirmation form could quickly and accurately find the point of failure to ensure the security and stability of the unit, and then reduce the economic losses caused by troubleshooting inefficient. The established vibration fault diagnosis rules not only works on the waste heat turbine generators but also works on Power Plant Unit No.0. It shows that hierarchical classification diagnostic method is of application value on the vibration failure treatment in large and complex unitsThe purpose of this paper is to establish a set of fault diagnosis method through the vibration failure research of waste heat unit. It is suitable for field application and could provide reference for other units. It would improve the stability of the unit and make contribution to energy saving for enterprises.
