High-speed railway passenger car's wheel bearing is an important component of its walking support, whose accuracy, life ,reliability,etc. play a very important role on the passenger car's performance and security. The EHL condition between the railway bearing's rollers and raceways is very complex, especially in the condition of high speed and high pressure, the relative motion of bearing's roller and raceway produced the traction, which has a huge impact on the dynamics effect of rolling bodies.So,the lubricant's traction characteristics is the basis of the study on rolling bearing's kinetics,friction torque etc.Based on the lubrication properties of the high-speed railway passenger car's wheel bearing, this paper discussed the theory of EHL, and then carried out a preliminary study on the calculation of the elastohyrodynamic traction. Based on the structural characteristics of the EHL traction test rig at home and abroad, the paper put forward the structural concept about two kinds of hydrostatic bearing double-disc test rig, and then analyzed these structural concept,selected the structural concept of the hydrostatic slide bearing dual-disc test rig. According to the mechanical properties about bearing's roller and the raceway used on the high-speed railway passenger car's wheel, we detailedly design the test rig and its supporting system,then carried out the virtual assembly in the SolidWorks. Designing the EHL traction's test system is difficult, according to the ball-on-plate test rig's experience which is developed by Henan University of Science and Technology, we design a measuring system that use the quartz resonator force sensor, which can improve the intelligence of the experimental system. Through analyse the EHL traction test rig'main structure,that by means of its kinematics simulation, static and vibration. The results show that the test rig's structural is reasonable, and can meet its strength requirement. Finally, according to the characteristic of the testing rig's dual-disc contact, respectively analysis the EHL of the liner contact and the elliptical contact. From the calculation results, we can see that, the speed, materials and load significantly affected the characteristics of EHL, that can provide a theoretical foundation for the experimental analysis on the next step.
