The technology of energy dissipation and structural control in the current seismic design of structure has been widely applied, such as metal dampers and friction dampers. These dampers will undergo plastic deformation in earthquake, so there is still substantial residual deformations in the structures after earthquake and a lot of repair work is required. Incorporating the self-centering energy dissipative brace(SCED) in frames is an effective way to eliminate residual deformations. The SCED steel frames are studied in this paper and the main research contents are as follows:1.The SCED steel frame mode were setted up with finite element software ANSYS. Considering frequently occurred and seldomly occurred earthquake, time-history analysis of the structures are carried out. The buckling restrained braces(BRB) steel frames are also analyzed for comparison purposes.2.According to different inatial rotational stiffness of beam-column joints, three modes of semi-rigid steel frames braced with the SCED were setted up in ANSYS. Considering seldomly occurred earthquake, time-history analysis of the structure is completed. The BRB steel frames are also analysised for comparison.3.The influences of the parameters of SCED on the response of the SCED frames under seldomly occurred earthquake are studied.
