With the development of modern structure, reinforced concrete structure can not meet the demand of modern structures. RPC(Reactive Powder Concrete ) owns great prospects in civil engineering for its incomparable advantages superior to traditional reinforced concrete in building high or wide-span structures with ultra-high strength, tightness and durability. The combination of RPC and high-tensile reinforcing steel, having the advantages of both parts, can save the steel and relieve the dead weight. The study of RPC now is focusing on its material, with less attention on the bearing capacity of RPC component,such as slab.Slab is one of the primary componets of structure,thus, it's necessary to make experimental study on RPC slab. The paper is based on experimental tests on six RPC two-way ribbed slabs and one reinforced-concrete slab. And the main research conclusion is summarized as follows:(1) The test of loading on both RPC two-way ribbed slabs and on reinforced-concrete slab proves the RPC slabs are more superior in durability, deformation resistance capability and punching shear capacity.(2)The measurement of load-deflection curve and load-strain curve of the slabs proves RPC works with high-tensile reinforcing steel. The RPC slab is deformed even damaged with ultra destruction. And the area of compressed RPC has plastic deformation.(3)Both elastic coefficient method and limit equilibrium method can be applied to analyze the flexural bearing capacity of RPC slabs. The former method has larger safety coefficient, and the latter method gets approximated result to the test.(4)By analyzing the punching shear capacity of RPC slabs with regulatory formulas popular in U.S.A, Europe and China, the test proves the mixture of RPC with an appropriate amount of steel fiber can enhance the punching shear capacity significantly.(5)ANSYS finite element software provides the numerical simulation for the cracking process, deflection variation and stress distribution.The study shows RPC slabs with properties, such as large bearing capacity and low deformation rate, etc, have advantages in building wide-span and thin-walled structures.
