The development of the automobile industry has been greatly affected by more and more severe problems of energy source lacking and environment pollution. To meet the demands of low fuel consumption and low emissions is a higher requirement for the development of internal combustion engines.Lean combustion techniques in gasoline engines can both reduce fuel consumption effectively so as to reduce the emission of greenhouse-CO2 and lower the emissions of HC and CO significantly. In this paper, the research of lean combustion techniques has been conducted on the basis of the simulation on the intake ports of CA3GA2 gasoline by the CFD(Computational Fluid Dynamics) software. There are two theoretical bases for the simulation and experimental research, one is the movement of the mixture in the cylinder and its impact of the combustion process, the other is the advantages of the lean combustion techniques for low fuel consumption and low emissions. In the premise of getting over with the Three Conservation Law in mass, momentum and energy, the software of STAR-CD is applied to make familiar with the current situation of CFD.To study the performance relationship between the intake ports and the intake manifolds by means of numerical simulation to the macroscopic properties of internal combustion engines, which can be found out by steady flow test. A three-dimensional numerical simulation about the flow in the intake ports and cylinder has been operated on the steady flow rig by the software of STAR-CD. In a further step, a flow analysis diagram can be acquired by meshing and setting the boundary conditions. For the analysis of the property of the flow in intake ports and cylinder, the evidence that the flow coefficients of the intake ports in different valve lifts are rather high and the tumble is clear can be received, which accounts for the reasonable intake port structure.
