Natural gas, which is popularized now in China, is the major component of urban gas industry. But the inefficiency of traditional management and potential safety hazard of the gas system are the most critical problems to solve to maintain the gas system. Based on requirement for management and emergency, this paper tries to develop a kind of Geographic Information System specialized for natural gas system based on web service. Research is mainly carried on for system architecture, specialized gas system model, supervisory control and recovery of gas system, visualization and analysis of gas diffuse model.Through analysis, comparison and research of reference documentation, this paper develops a kind of system architecture for management and emergency system based on web service. Then the system is developed with ArcGIS software and tested.The design principles of specialized gas system model are established based on object oriented spatial data model and specialty of gas system. Then the specialized model is made through static structure diagram of UML, and applied to the Gas System after the migration, adjustment and decoration of the original data. The simulation of actual gas system is established finally.Research is focused on supervisory control of system and the shortest path computation. Map layers are linked to the database for the supervisory and early warning of the gas pressure. After comparison and analysis of simulated annealing algorithm, genetic algorithm and ant colony algorithm, the adapted ant colony algorithm is researched and implemented for computation of the shortest path between leaking point and maintenance station. And this function shortens the emergency response time efficiently.Gauss Diffuse Model for gas leakage is researched based on specialty of natural gas leakage and diffusion. This model is used for computation of region and distribution of natural gas, and the result is visualized in the system. The buildings and population in the region are statistically measured and analyzed through GIS spatial analysis. This gas system runs stably, and has excellent visualization, practicability and efficiency. The specialized spatial data model, adapted algorithm and gas diffuse model simulation cooperate in the system to supply for the management and emergency of the natural gas system.The achievement of the paper can be applied for the Natural Gas System directly to improve the management style and emergency situation.
