The objective of starting up control of the vehicle is to preserve a smooth starting process. This objective must be based on the vehicle condition, road condition and the driver's intention to control the engagement of the clutch. The mode of starting up vehicle is various, because of the loading, ramp and the road condition. Simultaneously, the clutch is a non-linear, time-varying and delay model, made the driveline control, especially the coordinated control for dry clutch and engine is complex. By considering the parametric uncertainties of transmission and clutch, we do some research on controling of the clutch slipping speed and clutch engagement distance in starting process.We do some research on the control of the engine speed and the speed synchronization problem of driven plate and slave plate of the clutch in starting up process equipped with an AMT. First of all, according to the clutch speed difference of the driven plate and slave palte play an important role in influence on starting time of AMT, comfort and the wear of the clutch, analyzing the control performance of speed synchronization when the driveline with uncertain parameters. Designing a robust controller and obtained the feedback matrix of the controller by solving the linear matrix inequality. Secondly, by considering the uncertain coefficient of friction of the clutch, an adaptive controller was designed by the backsteeping design methord. Simulation test shows that though model parameters are in serious uncertainty, the controller made a good engagement of the engine speed and clutch speed.A study of the clutch position control in dry clutch engaging process of an AMT was made. Based on the physical structure of dry clutch and the bound conditions in working process of the system, the model was established and simplified. During the clutch engagement process, the temperature, friction, wear and tear of the clutch made the clutch model consist serious parameter uncertainty. Design a nonlinear adaptive controller, tracking the clutch position precise and fast, in the case of existing uncertainty parameters. Simulation studies verify the effectiveness of the control strategy.
