For studying the mechanics capability of the bending H steel beams strengthened by(the carbon fiber-reinforced polymer )CFRP plates, and to ascertain better method of strengthening, an experiment of strengthening H steel beams with plastering CFRP plates was made in this paper.And then use ansys finite element software to simulate and analyze the strengthened beams for to be a contrast to the experiment result. Worked out and made checking computations of the theoretical formula of bending steel beams reinforced by CFRP plates to offer calculating method of strengthening steel beams. At last, Preliminary discussion is made for the fatigue performance of bending steel beams strengthened by prestressed CFRP plate by using ansys finite element software.In this paper, different lengths, widths and thickness of (the carbon fiber-reinforced polymer )CFRP plates are used in the strengthening experiment to strengthening the bending H steel beams, and set U-shaped carbon fiber reinforced polymer sheet anchor at the two ends of the plate . And then used the method of using one section to exchange another to make theoretical analysis of bending steel beam strengthened with carbon fiber-reinforced polymer plates, got the theoretical formula of bending steel beams reinforced by CFRP plates. Then use ansys finite element software to simulate and analyze the strengthened beams. Make calculated result compared with the experiment and finite element simulation results, and analyze the contrastive result. Test and analysis results shows significant increases in the bending capacity and stiffness of steel beams strengthened with CFRP plates. The increases are related with the area of strengthening, the thickness of CFRP plate and the anchor at the end. The larger of the strengthening area, and the thicker of the CFRP plate, and the greater of the strengthening effect. The U-shaped carbon fiber reinforced polymer sheet anchor on the end of CFRP plate may avoid debonding to some extent and increase the effectiveness of the strengthening. The calculated value is littler than experiment value of yield moment; the calculated value is bigger than experiment value of deflection. Both calculated value is approaching to the simulation results. It shows that the theoretics calculating is safe and the calculating method has good applicability and can be used as reference in the actual project of designing steel beams reinforced by CFRP plates.Prestressed CFRP plate strengthening steel structrue is a effective technology, the fatigue strength can be effectively improved by pasting prestressed CFRP plate. In this paper ansys finite element software was uded to analyze the strengthened H steel beams, and usis the result to constract to existing domestic test result, and then analyze the contrastive result.
