| Today, maintenance strategy and reliability analysis are becoming increasingly important for heated business competition in the world. This dissertation firstly expounded the situation of equipment maintenance management and Reliability, then introduced the RCM theory in detail, at the same time analyzed the matter and significance of the Reliability analysis, made the decision and optimization of preventive maintenance cycle.This dissertation choose centrifugal pump for the representative equipment. All kinds of the basic fault events about the centrifugal pump system were educed by structural analysis. On the basis of this, the fault tree of centrifugal pump system was established by means of the system reliability and the fault tree analysis. According to the system fault tree, the system and its subsystems, even its accessories were studied detailed in qualitative analysis. Then the minimal cut set of the fault tree was educed. By using correlative method, the failure rate of system fault tree's sub-events were gained. Based on the data, the quantitative calculations were analyzed, the top-event's failure rate in a certain time was calculated. In the quantitative analysis of the fault tree, importance was analyzed, the weak point of the centrifugal pump system reliability was founded. According to the established reliability model of centrifugal pump system, on principle of the most available and the smallest total cost, the centrifugal pump system's best preventive maintenance cycle was calculated respectively. Further more, based on the economic index, the reliability index was imported, on the restriction of reliability, the best preventive maintenance cycle was recalculated.The fault tree analysis in this dissertation can be a guideline in the maintenance of centrifugal pump in practical applications. The research of preventive maintenance cycle provide a reference with making maintenance cycle of facility in the fine chemical plant.
