Power transformers are the most important primary substation equipment, its health is directly related to power generation, power system security and reliability. Moreover, transformer failure development is more complex, often with a variety of factors, it is intelligent to realize transformer condition monitoring and judgment is very important work. There are many transformer monitoring methods, such monitoring technology as:oil dissolved gas analysis, winding temperature, infrared temperature, partial discharge, cooling systems, vibration measurement,.. This thesis in connection with oil-immersed power transformers, by studying the winding hot-spot temperature and oil chromatographic monitoring, proposed the Transformer Online Monitoring System TOMS. TOMS using the indirect method for winding hot-spot temperature measurement and using Doernenburg ratio method for oil gas composition measurements. TOMS system carried on integrated fault diagnosis and assessment process; that can discover latent failures in the operation of the transformer, simultaneously improving the ability of transformer overload operation; therefore TOMS can give substation automation system a lot of subsidies role.
