Study On The Behavior Of Urban Elderly And Its Influencing Mechanism

Elderly population of our country has reached200million and will maintain a sustained growth over a longer period.Facing the increasingly serious problem of population aging, the current urban planning, traffic design and public service system are mainly to meet the needs of commuting trips.Travel demand of the elderly can not be meet well;At the same time, trips of the elderly bring a new and large pressure to the city traffic. The related problems are worth studying.Based on the above understanding, this paper is aimed at trips of the elderly based on daily travel behavior questionnaire survey of449elderly in Kunming.The comprehensive analysis of travel characteristics of urban elderly is made from the407effective samples statistics.The travel behavior of elderly is analyzed from perspectives of different properties.The further research about leisure activities,shopping and some depth interview is analyzed.The general characteristics of the trip is analyzed based on travel behavior questionnaire survey data of107elderly for a week in Kunming.The time distribution of trip rate of a week is researched from the micro perspective. Visualization of elderly Spatial-Temporal path is achieved to study leisure activities and shopping based on T-GIS platform in our laboratory.Influencing factors and influence mechanism of elderly travel behavior is analyzed through establishing the Structural Equation Model which regards the personal attribute and family attribute of sample as the exogenous latent variables, and trip purpose、departure time、trip mode、travel intensity as the endogenous latent variables.Through the research,daily travel characteristics of the elderly and the impact of various attributes indicate that distribution of travel time of the elderly and the main direction of the peak travel period have a significant difference with commuting trips. The change law of all kinds of travel characteristics of the elderly within a week show that the travel rate distribution has a significant difference.The result of the model showed that the attributes of elderly has no significant effect on travel characteristics.Different activities,interaction influence of travel characteristics and the relevance of some variables has a significant impact on the travel behavior of the elderly, which have difference with the general knowledge of commuting trips.
