| This thesis studies Huizhou Houses. Instead of studying the architecture itself, weaim at aesthetically exploring the following aspects, including: how to perceive theparticular aesthetics from the schematic structure that is presented by this specificregional architectural culture, and how to re-interpret the visual structure by thelanguage of fiber. Furthermore, we try to break through the existing design concept ofthe temporal and special pattern of the architecture, so as to establish a new aestheticcoordinates for other contemporary designs in the form of symbolic systems.By organizing and summarizing the related literature and materials, we will studythe unique beauty of form and implication of Huizhou Houses. Through field trips andresearching the local area, we will perceive the particular aesthetic form from the visualstructure that is presented by Huizhou Houses, thus forming a visual "mirror" of theresidential architecture from Huizhou. Through various experimental techniques, we willreveal its new aesthetic forms by focusing the theoretical research on the symbolizedand stylized visual transformation. According to this research thesis, we will createa large wall work using fiber material, and give a new vision to the visual structurethat is extracted from the Huizhou architecture, which as a result will show how the visual"mirror" presents its full emotional effects in the field of contemporary fiber art anddesign. |
