Hydraulic Rotary Actuator is a kind of equipment use the straight pressure of Hydraulic oil to driver torque. Oil pressure which passed by Hydraulic Rotary Actuators can export large angular displacement within short hydraulic displacement. Hydraulic Rotary Actuators is widely used in engineering machinery and robot assembly for its incomparable advantages compared with gear and rack type swing hydraulic cylinder such as compact structure, large output torque and smooth running. At present, our country hasn’t been able to manufacture Hydraulic Rotary Actuators which can produce a large torque with high efficiency within long life.This paper put forward the corresponding optimization method by the virtual prototype technology, aiming at the key parameters of Hydraulic Rotary Actuators to optimize its design. At the same time, optimization calculation for tooth profile and helix Angle of Hydraulic Rotary Actuators were studied by RecurDyn multibody dynamics, and the research of dynamic pressure lubrication were studied for oil cylinder screw pair clearance flow field.It’s the first time to apply circular arc tooth type screw thread to Hydraulic Rotary Actuators, deduced the mathematical model of long arc tooth type screw thread and calculation formula of Hydraulic Rotary Actuator’s intersection angle and torque, and established multiple sets of model of Hydraulic Rotary with different parameters to assemble various parts and components together.RecurDyn software was used for kinematics and dynamics modeling, analyze the relationship between the torque output and different tooth shape parameters and vice thread screw Angle, and analyzed the influence of different thread Angle on axial force and transmission efficiency. Meanwhile, comparative analysis had been finished for circular arc tooth type screw thread and Trapezoidal tooth type screw thread to find a thread parameters for better efficiency.ICEM were used to divide the three-dimensional oil film into grid structure. By using dynamic mesh, UDF was written to control the movement of grids. Deep analysis of the key factors of hydrodynamic lubrication of screw pair clearance oil film were studied. At the same time, the relationship between oil film and its thickness, spiral length, inlet pressure were researched. The research shows that there is Inflection point in dynamic pressure oil film and some regular patterns of correlation between the dynamic pressure oil film strength and gap parameter.This paper used The Finite Element static Structural Analysis on the key parts of the Hydraulic Rotary Actuators veriticated the design of Hydraulic Rotary Actuators under the best parameters, and futher optimized the spiral vice design parameters. This paper also made derivation calculation of the overall efficiency of Hydraulic Rotary Actuators, calculated the Hydraulic energy loss of clearance flow field, got the volumetric efficiency of Hydraulic Rotary Actuators, and further got the overall efficiency of Hydraulic Rotary Actuators.
