The geologic structure and topography of Yunnan Province is extremely complex, the Kunming Changshui International Airport is located in the plateau hilly karst landform area, big undulating terrain and covers a big area which involves more engineering-geological units, the construction of the airport was bound to made deep digging and high fill. The Tuanshan high excavation residual laterite slope in the west of the Airport, it’s stability or not is directly affect the west second runway construction, operation, and the stability of the Tuanshan residual laterite slope problem is the problems to be solved in the airport second phase construction. This paper has researched the Tuanshan residual laterite slope in the west of The Kunming Changshui International Airport, on the basis of the survey the field geological background, take the soil samples-. make the indoor experimental analysis, comprehensive research of the regional geological conditions and the mechanical characteristics of the residual laterite, comprehensive research the influencing factors of the Tuanshan residual laterite slope stability, and choose the typical slope section, using GeoStudio-Slope/W、QUAKE/W software and ANSYS software, numerical simulation analysis of slope in natural conditions, earthquake conditions of stability, provide recommendations for treatment slope。 Through the above analysis, this paper draws the following conclusions and cognitions:(1)This slope is excavation slope, the slope of the soil is consists of weathered residual laterite, it’s geologic time is the Cambrian system middle series Douposhizu Fm. (∈2 d); there are many factors that affect the slope stability, geometry characteristics of the slope, gravity stress, physical and mechanical parameters of the laterite, etc. And may induce the external factors of the slope instability:earthquake stress, hydrogeological condition and the heavy rain washed infiltration, etc.(2) The GeoStudio-Slope/W software calculation results showed that, in the natural state, the minimum safety factor of slope is:Janbu method-1.518, the slope is stable; binding QUAKE/W software analysis of slope stability factor in earthquake conditions, the maximum safety factor of slope is:Bishop method-1.133, slope instability and failure in a critical state. Slope/W software based on the analysis of the stepped slope, has the advantages of conveniently、quickly and accurately, on the stepped slope stability analysis has certain reference significance.(3) Based on the principles of finite element strength reduction and stope ANSYS software to simulate the slope setting, under the condition of gravity stress, slope is stable, no significant deformation of the slope. Under the condition of the shear strength reduction (Fc≠Fφ), the safety factor of slope is:Fc=1.86, Fφ= 1.42, the slope failure is common sense. The two safety factors of strength reduction (Fc>Fφ), it is more suitable for over-consolidated residual laterite slopes. After a comparative study, the slop ratio of 1:1.5 residual laterite slope, with Fc= 1.3 Fφ strength reduction, it will get better stability safety factor, study of eluvial laterite slope has a certain reference value.(4) Under the current situation, the slope is stable, in the event of the devastating earthquake, there may occur slipping instability, so need to have anti-seepage antiscour protection measures. At the top of the slope, such as the large slope recommended room plant vegetation protection reinforcement measures, the slope surface used the geocell protection measures and planting grass or shrubs, the construction of drainage ditches toe, in order to ensure the stabilization of slope and the safety of the west secondly runway...
