Metal phase diagram plays an important role in the types of materials and structural analysis. It is widely applied in the fields of chemical engineering and scientific research.Therefore, metal phase diagram drawing has also become one of the important experimental physical chemistry experiments in specialty, such as university chemistry, chemical engineering, materials, and so on.To draw the standard metal phase diagram, we need accurate step cooling curve, which have ever-increasing demands for metallic phase diagram instrument. With the development of technology, especially with the widespread application of computer-controlled machine technology, metal phase diagram instrument has been continuously updated and improved. In preliminary work, our group has developed a new kind of phase diagrams instrument based on PCI1711L data acquisition card made by Advantech and Labview control program.This paper aiming to work on the basis of the above, uses the MCGS touch screen and Mitsubishi PLC technology to achieve automatic control of metal phase diagram experiment. In this way, we solve the problems like complex instrument calibration and equipment high cost, which occurred in the work described above.This paper uses MCGS configuration software to build the PC systems configuration software for real-time monitoring of the experiment, including configuration screens such as real-time curve of the sample temperature, the furnace wall temperature real-time curve, historical curve, parameter setting, data browsing and others. According to PLC program, we build a lower system for temperature acquisition, fan speed control and so on. PLC and MCGS completed the logic control of the entire metal phase diagram experiment. It controls the hardware structure of the entire circuit. Through continuous improvement of program and debug, we finally design the automatic control system, which can meet the test requirements. The automatic control system is not easy operating, but also testing accurately and cost savings.
