As a kind of high performance maritime traffic tool, the SWATH has gotten much more attention. Domestic researches on the SWATH and real ship data are rare and inadequate. In order to guarantee the hull strength at the same time reduce the weight, how to accurately estimate the wave load and the structure strength has become an important research subject.In this arcticle, a total length of 70 meters steel SWATH, which is usually offshore, has been carried on the wave load computation, the whole ship yield of finite element analysis, buckling strength and fatigue strength check. The main contents are as follows:1)The wave hydrodynamic load(frequency of 10-8) of catamaran is calculated by using the hydrodynamic software Sesam, and compared to the result of small waterplane catamaran guide.2)FEA software MSC.Patran/Nastran is used to conduct the whole-ship finite element modeling and unit partition. Through the yield and the buckling strength calculation analysis, the structure is optimized.3) Fatigue load(frequency of 10-4) is mainly calculated by using the hydrodynamic software Sesam. Load cases are assembled with different loads, the hot spot stress of key nodes are calculated, fatigue strength is evaluated, and the effections of soft toe size on the fatigue stress are discussed.There are some innovations about the hydrodynamic calculation method of fatigue load and load cases combination methods, and the research results provide reference value for the structure design of catamaran.
