The hybrid fiber reinforced concrete as a kind of high performance composite materials, with its good toughness and impact resistance, are widely used in the construction of protection works. With the help of test method, the article do further research on the mechanical characteristics and penetration resistance characteristics of three materials, which contain the polypropylene-steel fiber reinforced concrete, the polyvinyl alcohol-steel fiber reinforced concrete and the polypropylene -polyvinyl alcohol-steel fiber reinforced concrete. In addition, this paper has carried on the numerical simulation of penetration in steel fiber reinforced concrete. In this paper, the main research contents include:(1) The quasi static mechanics experiment of hybrid fiber reinforced concrete are carried out, which contains bending test and compression test. By the analysis of folding strength, compressive strength and bend-press ratio, the article gets fiber combination and proportion effect on compressive properties, bending properties and impact toughness. In addition, the fracture failure model of different kinds of concrete is presented through the observation and analysis on bending failure process of concrete.(2) Research was carried out by the penetration experiment on hybrid fiber reinforced concrete. The article gets the fiber combination and proportion influence on penetration resistance characteristics by the contrast and analysis on the target damage and penetration depth. And also for multiple penetration resistance characteristics of the different types of fiber reinforced concrete are analyzed and compared.(3) The finite element model of rigid projectile vertical penetration on steel fiber reinforced concrete is established. The penetration process parameters such as penetration depth, projectile’s velocity and acceleration are made analysis and contract on.Through the study of this article, the fiber combination and proportion influence on the mechanical characteristics and penetration resistance characteristics of the hybrid fiber reinforced concrete are got. All the conclusions can be used to guide the design and application of the hybrid fiber reinforced concrete protection works.
