As a kind of reinforced material, fiber is used widely in the field of construction which can change brittleness and improve tensile strength and toughness of concrete. Different fiber has different effect on the mechanical properties of concrete. According to the composite material theory, different fiber can complement each other's advantages to produce new composite materials with good mechanical and economic properties. In this paper, steel-polypropylene hybrid fiber reinforced concrete was studied by way of experiments and numerical simulation, mechanism of crack resistance and strength reinforcement was discussed, and an optimal fiber ratio was summarized which can be referred to in practical use.In this paper, single and hybrid fiber reinforced concrete were made with steel fibers of different sizes and polypropylene fiber to complete compressive, splitting, bending and self-designed impact experiments. The results showed that fibers, especially hybrid fibers, can improve splitting and bending strength obviously. Hybrid fibers can improve impact strength of concrete near 7 times. Based on the experiments, mechanical properties of compressive, splitting, bending and impact of fiber reinforced concrete were analyzed by numerical simulation method, and a result which was comparatively matched with the experiment was obtained. Furthermore, parameters'value was expanded to complement the test data, and some conclusions were deduced. Finally, the mechanism of crack resistance and strength reinforcement was discussed based on the experimental and numerical analysis. Also a hybrid effect factor formula was suggested in this paper.
