High frame rate and high resolution CMOS camera is a camera that used to record high speed motion state and reduce the motion state rate under limit resolution of human eyes to display, which has been widely used in military and aerospace field that demand harsh on the stability of load and system.Nowadays,the company that have the key product and reseach technology of high frame rate and high resolution camera mainly concentrate in the developed countries,it’s productions are very expensive and exist import restriction.Considering the technology barrier abroad and technology backward domestic,the research of low noise, high dynamic range, high coverage and low cost high frame rate and high resolution CMOS camera has a great significance to promote our country’s military and national defence.This paper is based on a CMOS digital image sensor LUX1310 developed by United States LUXIMA company, the feature and every parameter of LUX1310 has been researched and specific design requirement has been analysed. Based on LUX1310, the framework of high frame rate and high resolution CMOS camera system is designed, which consists LUX1310+FPGA+DDR3+CameraLink+Flash+RS485 and chip selection has been completed. Secondly, according to the system scheme and chip characteristic, hardware circuit has been designed, PCB board has been drawn, every hardware module has been debugged and the hardware platform of system has been built. Finally, FPGA software program and upper-end computer interface have been designed to validate feasibility of the system scheme, and correction algorithms that fit LUX1310 have been proposed to improve image quality.Experimental results show that high frame rate and high resolution CMOS camera system designed in this paper has a good stability, it has realized 1280x 1024 resolution cache imaging in 1000fps and 128×1024 resolution real-time display imaging in 400fps. Also it can choose the window mode by the upper-end computer according to different scenes, operates easily and meets different capture requirements. In the light of the characteristic of LUX1310’s multi channel non uniformity, this paper proposes non uniformity correction method based on ADC’s offset, the signal to noise ratio is up to 53dB, so that the image quality is improved significant. Meanwhile, this paper also proposes image mean value auto gain and auto shutter method that suitable for this system, it makes camera get high quality image in different light environment, the dynamic range is 73dB.
