With the continuous development of China’s population urbanization process, the rapid increase in urban population, resulting in more and more urban living garbage. In order to be able to timely, fast and efficient transport and disposal of all kinds of life garbage, all kinds of environmental sanitation vehicles came into being. However, existing enterprises in the process of research and development of new products focus only on of sanitation vehicles main working parts and box body design, ignore chassis by modified on research of vehicle handling and stability, causing the vehicle in extreme conditions exist security risks.Under this background, this paper, combined with a company’s production of three axis pull arm type garbage truck vehicle model and analysis in the leaf spring stiffness test and non independent suspension system performance based on, using the multi-body dynamics simulation analysis software MSC. ADAMS virtual prototype of the garbage truck handling stability simulation tests were carried out, to carry out the work.(1) In Dongfeng DFL1250A8 automotive chassis based, on the pull arm type garbage truck for overall design modifications, movable box, pull arm and sub-frame layout design, of refitted vehicle centroid position of calculation and analysis, is established by using ADAMS/car module of Adams, suspension system, steering system, wheel subsystem model and complete vehicle virtual assembly.(2) Analysis of the vehicle before and after leaf spring suspension assembly stiffness and rigidity of vehicle roll angle, research in certain conditions, after axle left and right wheel vertical load redistribution effects on vehicle handling and stability.(3) Build a three axle leaf spring suspension model and the do stiffness calculation, focuses on load quality change larger rear leaf spring suspension stiffness, finite element analysis and through experimental verification the rigidity and demonstrate the accuracy of Adams in the leaf spring model. Makes the vehicle model in the ADAMS analysis of handling stability, more in line with the actual conditions.(4) Of vehicle virtual prototype of steering wheel angle pulse input simulation test, steering wheel angle step input simulation test, the steering wheel return simulation test, the steady-state steering characteristic simulation test and snake simulation test. And on this basis, the influence of the relative position of the box body on the vehicle handling and stability is analyzed and studied.Through the research and analysis shows that:the three axis pull arm garbage truck vehicle handling stability is good, the experimental measurement of steel plate spring stiffness than the theoretical calculation of the stiffness of 7.7%. The finite element calculation results are quite close to the measured results, the results of the 23 points in the points are less than 6%, and the results of only 3 points are 10% or more than 10%. To prove the accuracy, the leaf spring model in ADAMS. The changes of the centroid position of the transient box three axis truck response characteristics of the impact is more obvious, the steady state characteristics of the basic will not affect.Under different vehicle conditions to add the device control performance analysis and research, seeking to improve vehicle handling and stability of the method and the way, so as to obtain good driving safety performance, shorten the development cycle, enhance the enterprise competitive advantage in the market and for sanitation vehicle R & D and vehicle refitted with certain research foundation.
