The car’s handling stability is an very important performance,which affects the car’s driving safety directly, getting more and more attention in modern automotive design.The suspension system affects the handling stability of the car directly, so designing a suspension system with high-performance is of great significance for the promotion of in-depth research and application of car’s suspension technology.In the meantime,it also enrich the many-link suspension’s designing guidance system and its own brand of high-performance sedan suspension’s design type. Based on this, this paper aims to design a high-performance multi-link suspension system, and upgrade the vehicle’s key performance indicators of handling stability significantly by K&C performance’s designing optimization and suspension parameters’ designing matching.Main works of this study are as follows:(1)One sedan’s handling stability and the K&C performance of suspension is analyzed to identify the improvement and optimization’s direction and goals,and then putting forward a new multi-link suspension system’s designing requirements based on this goal. In order to carry the multi-link suspension system’s designing forward, I study the development and theoretical basis of multi-body dynamics deeply.Finally,I found the methods of many-link suspension’s designing for guidance basing on the results of previous’ studies,and deduced the methods,applied to guide the actual design.(2)Build the simulation model in ADAMS/CAR module according to the hard points and key parameters of the suspension system,And then, analyze some working conditions such as Vertical bounce, Roll, Lateral force in phase, Lateral force anti phase, Aligning torque in phase, Aligning torque anti phase, Longitudinal force and so on. Get the characteristic curve of K&C for the multi-link suspension system and optimize the performance.(3)Build the vehicle’s multi-body dynamics model based on the better suspension system. And then analyze the influences of the quality of K&C and the parameters of the suspension system about the handling stability of the vehicle.such as Steady static circular and pitch of brake to obtain the performance of handling stability.(4)Finally, confirm the accuracy of the theoretical design and the analysis of simulation through an experiment of a real car.
