It is the development trend of mortar shell to have precision strike capability, which is improved from conventional shell and uses original launch. It takes a pulse correction mortar shell as the research object. Aerodynamic characteristics of mortar shell are analyzed,the influence of pulse on stability of the shell is considered,By Monte Carlo simulation, placement distribution in the case of initial disturbance is studied.The aerodynamic and engine thrust are exploded onto the corresponding mortar motion coordinate system,a pulse correction motion equations is establishment. The main aerodynamic parameters obtained by numerical simulation is analyzed, cx,cy and mz are fitted based on the principle of least squares. The thrust efficiency is analyzed, which relates to engine of working time and rotating speed. The relationships of ignition timing,ignition phase and correction distance are simulated. Influence of dynamic stability such as axial pulse thrust eccentricity, pulse impulse size,engine working time and pulse interval is studied.Under the situation of constant total impulse, pulse correction capability is researched from the number of engines, the impulse size and the ignition interval three aspects. In case of shell stability, the larger the engine impulse,the earlier the engine works, the better the trajectory correction is.The main factors affecting mortar shell distribution are analyzed. The main interference factors’distribution and the error range are determined. There are free flight,twelve engines with same impulse,fifteen engines with same impulse,twelve engines with two different impulses and fifteen engines with two different impulses five cases. Each case is simulated by using Monte Carlo method. By the statistical results,the average range of the case with twelve engines is larger.Under the same working conditions the shell with different pulse impulse engines has better lateral correction capability than which with same pulse impulse engines.
