With the development and expand of new energy, such as photovoltaic and fuel cells, the high-gain or wide input voltage range of the DC/DC converter as a part of the photovoltaic power generation system and the fuel cell generation system, has become a hot area of research. Based on summing up the existing non-isolated high-gain DC/DC converter, the switched inductor was applied to the quadratic Boost DC/DC converter, and the switched inductor quadratic Boost DC/DC converter was proposed. Compare to quadratic boost DC/DC converter, the voltage gain of the proposed converter is higher, and the current of the input inductor is smaller. The proposed converter can meet the new energy field for DC/DC converter requirement of the high gain. This article Carried out the research Around the switched inductor quadratic boost DC/DC converter, as follow.Firstly, the switched inductor quadratic boost DC/DC converter was proposed based on the analysis of the quadratic boost DC/DC converter and switched inductor boost DC/DC converter; the operation principle of the switched inductor quadratic boost converter was analyzed in detail, and the step-up ratio of the proposed was given, and the simulation results verify the theory analysis correctness for the proposed converter. The small-signal AC model was established by using state-space averaging method in the input inductor L1 = L2 of the proposed converter, the transfer function of output voltage, input inductor current and the inductor L3 current to the duty cycle are derived, and theirs frequency domain were analyzed, which provided the theoretical guidance for the controller design of proposed converter.Secondly, the proposed converter EL and PCHD model were established, and the passive current-controller was designed by using the passive control theory. To eliminate the stable error, the PI controller in the outer voltage loop was designed to provide the desired-current of the passive current-controller, so the passive hybrid-control strategy was proposed. The simulation research on the passive current-controller of the proposed converter has been carried out, and the simulation results show that passive hybrid-control strategy can let the switched inductor quadratic boost converter has good static and dynamic performances.Then, the parameter design and performance analysis of the proposed converter have been carried out. The calculation formula of the inductance and capacitance parameter was given in the proposed converter, and the voltage and current stress of the proposed converter’s semiconductor devices were analyzed, which can provide a theoretical basis to select hardware circuit component for the proposed converter. Compare to the step-up voltage capacity of several kinds of typical DC/DC converter, the results show that the proposed converter has higher step-up voltage capacity. Compare to the input inductor of quadratic Boost converter, the switched inductor quadratic boost converter has smaller single input Inductance, and pass through average current of the proposed converter’s the input inductor is also smaller.Finally, the principle prototype of the proposed converter was designed, and the principle prototype was done bebugging. The experimental has been carried out, and the experimental results are analyzed.
