Based on the discussion of some topics in the field of power system restoration, the paper summarizes the characters and tasks of power system restoration. The paper includes the following contents: (1) The paper elaborates power system character in the restoration issue, the principle in decision-making and the task of every restoration phrase. (2) The frame is proposed for the aided decision-making about power system restoration. The modules opology analysis ower supply route analysis oad flow calculation?and alculation of the amount of Power a failure area can accept?are programmed. (3) The paper applies the Telegen theorem to the calculation of the system function sensitivity to the control varieties, which can select the appropriate power plant and calculate the amount of power that a power failure area can accept. (4) In the use of interactive interface, the dispatchers?experience is considered, so the process of decision-making accords with the actual process. (5) Because of limitation of the existing power system database, the database fit for power system restoration is supplemented. Power system restoration is a very complex problem. Finding the way to solve this complex issue need more research in the future.
