A genetic algorithm for reactive power optimizatiori in distributionnetwork is presented on this paper. The mathematical model is establishedwhich is fit for practical aPplication, taking the least summation of activepower losses, voltage beyond 1imits and capacitor inve$tment cost intoconsideration.
