AbstractIn this article, the systematic numerical simulations were conducted for W-shape flame boiler furnace. The simulations of flow, heat transfer, combustion, and analysis of the results got pleased conclusions.The k- ?model was used in simulation of gas flow. PSIC method in Lagrangean coordinates system was used in tracing the tracks of particle. In simulation of heat transfer, Network-Analysis method was selected. By program an large-scale application software, reasonable flow, the distribution of the temperature and the concentration of all kinds of gas compositions have been gotten.The Fuel NOx calculation is performed using equations for the transport of Hydrogen cyanide(HCN) and nitric oxide(NO), with he reaction mechanisms proposed by De抯oete. Thermal NO is predicted by using the Zeldovich mechanism. Prompt NOx was overlooked in this article. Variables were time-averaged in Probability Density Function. The deoxidization effect of coke to NO was considered. For the first time, the model of NOx formation was coupled into the comprehensive model for simulating pulverized coal combustion.Upper method was successfully used in a real boiler(in Yangquan II Power Plant). The results of calculation show that: W-shape flame boiler is suitable to coal with low volatile, and emit less NOx pollutant.
