With the prompt development of the high-speed train in China, passenger's comfort is demanded for even higher standards. So hydraulic absorbers, a key component to make the locomotive run smoothly, are required higher performance. Several factories that manufacture hydraulic dampers for railway vehicle in China are weak in the fundamental theory and the application research, are lagged behind in the testing facilities and method, and their exploiting period is too long, lacking a fine simulation software. So there is huge gap between their hydraulic absorbers and those of other countries. All the new speeded-up locomotives all use the absorbers from foreign countries,and the cost of the production and maintenance is high.With the successive development of the electrification railway and speeding up in the main line, SS8 electric locomotive, the passenger transport locomotive with the maximum power, has been the chief rapid transport locomotive in China. Thus the article carries research on the construction and operation theory of its primary absorber, simplifies its construction, brings out a simple non-linear model with dynamics and hydraulic theory, design a simulation software about absorbers with VC++,Matlab and Visim programme language. At last, simulating result with thesoftware coincides with the experimental data, which proves the software.The simulation software of SS8 primary hydraulic absorbers provides a developing tool and fundamental theory for the absorbers of speeded-up locomotive, and will accelerate the homemade proceedings of the absorbers of our speeded-up locomotive.
