This paper studies inverse design problem of generalized eigenvalue problem of linear parameter discrete vibration system. This paper bring out design method of inverse eigenvalue problem, which adapts to general structures with linear parameters, namely coefficients of all or partial elastic component and inertial component are treated as design parameters, for given some order natural frequency and corresponding vibrating mode, all of useable designing parameters will be got through solving a linear system of equations, thereby stiffness matrix and mass matrix of actual structure are constructed. This paper also discusses existence condition and unique of results. Result of this paper can be used in not only chain-shape structures, but also inverse vibration design of complex structures, physical parameter identification, model modification and other related science fields of involving eigenvalue problems.This paper also studies inverse analysis method of response problem, and identifies stiffness of bearings of lathe spindle. Firstly, finite element model of lathe spindle using finite element technique is established, and supporting bearings are treated as springs, unknown physical parameters and partial vibration displacement make up of new solving vector through using method of combination of academic modeling and experiment, mathematic model of solving stiffness of beating of lathe spindle is established using inverse analysis method of response problem finally. This paper mensurates stiffness of bearings of spindle of CA6140 and validates results. The method may be applied to re-design of spindle^ type-chosen and adjusting of bearing, and let lathe obtain good dynamic performance and machining precision.This paper also studies eigenvalue inverse design method of board structure applied in engineering. Based on pole model of lathe, thickness of side-board is treated as design parameter. This problem becomes a nonlinear problem, but it may become a linear problem using method of differential coefficient. Through method of calculating energy of sub-structure, thinking of each board separately, so getting final results rapidly.In addition, this paper also discusses eigenvalue inverse design methods of continuous model of pole and girder, these methods can solve some eigenvalue inverse design problems of simple structures.
