The significance, the definition and the classification of stealth technology and the limitation of passive stealth are summarized. The conception, the techniques, the classification, the advantage of active stealth and the mechanisms of smart materials, plasma and artificial shadow applied in active stealth are also introduced. The principle of the cancellation of active stealth by phased antenna arrays is presented, together with the definition and the typical values of cancellaty, which is an important parameter to measure the stealth effects. An idea to establish a cancellation database on the basis of the smooth of RCS of the protected target is also introducedThe field scattered by facets and fringes and the multiple scattering effect are calculated by a hybridization of the theory of physical optics, equivalent currents and areal projection- physical optics, which are utilized to compute the RCS of an aeroplane. The smooth of RCS of the aeroplane is given. In addition, the cancelled effect of the scattering field of a protected target is also analyzed statistically. The mean and the mean square error of the difference between the scattering field and the cancellation field are calculated. The probability of the cancelled effect under the given errors is also computed in the cases that the azimuth angle varies with the law of uniform and random distribution, respectively.
