The question that how to solve the problem of the energy dissipation and erosion control effectively in the condition of the low Fr. current has been concerned by more and more hydraulic engineer recently . In order to answer this question , the author of this article puts forward a new kind of art about energy dissipation in the condition of low Fr. current. This art is named the energy dissipater of diffluent piers with low ridge by author. In order to verify the effect of the energy dissipation of this art, the author of this article has done some experiments and made some summaries from those experiments. The base of this summary mainly relies on the following points: the flow state of the current, the velocity distribution of the current, the erosion extent of the river bed and the condition of the current wave etc. In the same time, we compare the effect of energy dissipation of this new art with the Roller Bucket and the Hydraulic Jump and find that this new art is better than the two kinds mentioned above. Through the research we find that the velocity of the bottom current and the energy of the turbulence are the most important factorsaffecting the erosion of the river bed, and the wave of current endangers the safe of the bank, the operation practice of the electric factory and the condition of the open to navigation. Through the delicate analysis and study of the data of these factors, we gain some experiential formula to satisfy the needs of practice. In order to acquire a belter effect, we compare the parameter of bodily form which is concerned with the energy dissipation and give a range of preferable height and contraction rate of the diffluent piers. By the analysis, we conclude that this new art of energy dissipation attains a better discharge effect. When the current of low Fr. passes through this art , the velocity of the bottom current , the turbulence , the wave and the erosion control are less than the energy dissipation of the Roller Bucket and the Hydraulic Jump. There are also some advantages as following besides some mentioned above: the structure is simple, the construction is convenient, the engineering quantity is saved. In brief, this new art of energy dissipation reserves the abroad practice.
