As the enlarging investing on fundamentation, the highway constructing develops very quickly. The across districts of highway are very large. As for roads building in mountainous and hilly country , blast technique is often used to accomplish the trench excavation of roads. However, the effect of blast quake and blast feedback often affect the stability of mountain slope and steep road bed deeply. They may induce disasters such as toppling .slipping and debris flow , also, they affect the safety and economy of engineering. Thus, it is very important to research the influence of blast on mountain slope stability, to explore the rule of decreasing blast effect on rock slope stability to keep the environment of transportation safe. The effect of blast quake , the rule of slope failure and the controlling technique were made up as a whole in this paper to research. The main research foucs on: First, investigation of in site engineering geology and hydrological geology; Second, blast design and in site measurement: on the basis of the first stage work, considering special rock condition, blast design , blast test and measurement in site were made in the same time. The propagation rule of blast wave in the process of rock excavation ,blast quake space and the effect of blast on rock slope were studyed.Third, modeling and calculating of blast scheme: modeling and calculation of blast were made with nonlinear dymanic FEM software-DYNA2D. The effect rule of blast on slope stability was summarized.Fourth, analysis and calculation of rock slope stability: the sarma method of limit equalibrium and FEM method were used to analyzed the stability of rock slope in the test road part. The research result shows that the blast design is rasonable and feaseable ,the effect and safety of blast are good and blast don't do harm to the rock slope.
