Stability Analysis For Cutting Slope In Expensive Soils And Its Application

Based on the systematic shearing strength tests the intact expansive soil in the XiangJing highway, the mechanical feature and strength characteristic of the expansive soil is studied in detail in this article. Moreover, a series of parameters about the shearing strength are acquired, which is typical to the expansive soil in the Xiangjing engineering and the related project and so can be used as reference for the road cutting slope stability analysisConsidering the specific of the Xiangjing project, a classification is suggested, which is complementary to the existed norm. The landslide feature of the expansive soil is analyzed. The stability of the expansive soil slope is largely dependent on the weal link . The slope stability analysis of the expansive soil should consider the weathering, so all the analysis should be classified to two different types: weathered layer and non-weathered layer. How to determine the parameter of shearing strength of different layers is recommended in this is article. The SARMA and BISHOP analysis method for the slope stability analysis is expounded elaborately, and a computing program applied to expansive soil slope stability analysis is offered . A series of parameters are recommended for expansive soil slope design in the Xiangjing highway based on the result of computing.A lot of works are done to increase slope stability of the expansive soil. The expansive soil slope should be protected by adopting single measure but by combining multiple measures together. The combining of the soft protection and the plant protection is working efficiently. Lastly, a new geotechnical network protecting method is discussed, which is conducive to tackling the expansive soil slope comprehensively. In this paper, the strength character of the expansive soil has been analyzed detailedly, and the shear strength tests have been dine for the expansive soil, Obtain a series of shear strength quotas in the Xiangjing Express Way. These strength quotas have largely typical, and can be as reference to the slope stability analysis.
