Aiming at the problem of instability of slopes under the condition of rain, the dissertation focus on the change of seepage field under the condition of rain and its influence to the stability of slopes. The primary contents are as follows:(1) Based on the fundamental seepage physical equation, the basic differential equation of saturated-unsaturated seepage in porous mediums has been deduced, in which the pressure head is the fundamental unknown quantity. A calculated model for analysis of saturated-unsaturated seepage field with the boundary condition of rain infiltration also has been developed.(2) Based on above model, a FEM computer program for analysis of 3D saturated-unsaturated seepage field with the boundary condition of rain infiltration has been developed(3) The stability of different types of slopes under the condition of rain has been analyzed. Considering the shear strenth of unsaturated soil, the method of analysis of limit equilibrium has been approved and it can be used in the analysis of the stability of saturated-unsaturated slopes.(4) From computing the safety coefficient of homogeneous and heterosphere slopes, we can get useful conclusion that the safety coefficient change in the course of precipitation duration.
