Laser-scanned on-line inspection system(LOIS) involving laser,optics, Electronics, fine mechanics, opto-electronic transformation and computer etc, is used to realize high speed and accuracy, non-contact and on-line inspection for rotating body types of parts, In the system, a visible laser is taken as its light source, the geometric parameter of the measured object is transformed into the electrical signals by a scanning optical system and an opto-electronic transformation system, the measured result is given and displayed by the computer real-time data processing.On the basic of analysizing, the general methods for measuring larger size of workpiece ,a new tape laser-scanned on-line inspecting system based on the principle of LOIS - a sphere reflect laser-scanned on-line inspecting systems, (SRLOIS) is presented in this paper. In the SRLOIS, a sphere reflector taking the place of the traditional lens is taken as the scanning optical system, the measuring range of the system is extended , and the problem of laser non-contqct measurement of larger diameter for workpiece. In this paper , the working principle and overall structure of the SRLOIS are intruduced. The stable stmiconchutor laser power . the hardware circuit of the master control system with the IntelSOSl as the CPU, the master control software withMCS-51 collection language and error correction software with C language in the outside computer are designed.The output circuit of feedback control signal by using a high resolution 16 bit digital to analog converters (16 bit DAC) which is kennel of chip DAC703J,the data communication interface between microcomputer and computer by using the circuit of the TTL and RS-232 voltage transform with the chip MAX232, are also designed . The measuring results are shown that the measuring range of the SRLOIS is from ∮25mm to ∮160mm, its resolution is 0.001mm , its measuring accuracy is ± 0.02mm.
