With the rapid development of mechanics , electrics and optics industries ,the precision requirement of workpiece's parameters are increased. The traditional inspected instruments can't achieve some new requirement. In the paper it is required to settle which dimension and figure error of rolled steel can be measured by non-contact and on-line way under high speed and red-hot state.In the paper, we expound the total structure design of the measuring instrument, the choose of optics principium, the special optical system which consist of fθ lens, the design of servo control systemic, and the software and hardware design of light-to-current inversion and control of the servo, and the design of SQC statistical quality control and supervisory system. At last, the accurate of laser beam on-line measuring instrument has been analyzed.
