The underwater wget sdriulator is developed fOr the underwater tuget trackingsystem. lts functon is to simulate acoustic muhi-channel signals and underwatertaIget's dring tracks as if the buoy receiver is receiving data frorn the real world.There are many advantages in this system, such as robust control, real-timeworking, etc.This article fOcuses on hardware and software of the simulator. According tothe fimctions and requires of the underwater taIget tracking system, the wholefraxnework of the simulator is firstly designed. To generate the complex signaforesof the targets, it was realized the DSP+FPGA strUctUre would be reasonable.Secondly, the pans of system are discussed. Under the hardware frarne, tWosoftWare models (the multi-channel model and track model) are described.One importance of thes article discusses the interface design betWeen DSP andother parts. The logic of the interface is presented in detail. The FieldProgranunable Gate Anay (FPGA) is a key in tidying whole system. And theother one importance works over pieces of way in software design. Va comparing,a simple way based DSP software is described.In testing with underwater taIget tracking system, the underwater targetsimulator is verified, validated.
