Computing Theory And Software Development For Design Flood Of Middle Or Small Catchment

During the planning and designing of hydraulic,communication engineering,there is a lot of work about the design flood calculation of the middle or small drainage basin. In accordance with the practical requirement of the hydraulic,communicating engineering's planning and designing,the regulation for calculating design flood of water resources and hydropower projects and the conditions of Henan province's hydraulic engineering,this paper develops a set of calculative software about the design flood of the middle or small catchment. It consists of three approaches:rational formula method,unit hydrograph method,plain drainage method. All the methods can calculate the flood based on the storm data. The software can be used in Henan province. Additionally,the rational formula method and the plain drainage method can be used in other regions near Henan province,even farther regions. The main points includes:1. Study the basic flood design theories and methods of the middle or small catchment according to the characters of the middle or small catchment drainage of Henan province.2. Study the procession of design flood calculation. Study the function design and realizable ways about the analytical and calculative software3. Study the ways to look up and calculate the storm parameter automatically by using the GIS method.4. Study the expanded problem about the practicability of the software. Every parameter used in the design flood calculation can be adjusted according to the practical requirement. The software can calculate many sets of frequency design flood in the same time. All of those greatly expand its practicability.5. Combining the components program technique and VBA,Directly operate the Microsoft Excel worksheet and manage the outputed results. It can standardize the calculative results,the standardized results include the storm and the input-output of the rainstorm,and can be added to the technical report without any modification.The software greatly improves the precision and efficiency of design flood calculation of middle or small catchment. It has played a important role in the planning and designing of city flood control,river dredging and river regulation,communication.
