Due to the characters of machine parts, it is inconvenience that the value of reliability design be gotten by means of experimentation just as what be done to electric parts.As a result, it becomes vital important that the questions of machine parts reliability design be solved in theory. In order to accommodate to the modern machine parts designing, and make it more practical and more rational, in this paper more attention are payed on reseaching the machine parts reliability design theoretically . The primary content and innovation part of this paper as follows.1. The definition and principle of machine parts reliability design are expounded, and three methods of hoe to compute the statistic values of random variable;2. A conclusion is gotten that mathine parts general have several failure modes, and the correlation betweens the modes influense the general reliability of machine parts;3. The new theory of machine parts reliability design that concern the multi-modes correlation is brought forward in this paper, and validate the new theory using Ove. ditlivsen theory;4. On the basis of researching or pioneers, the distribution erosiondeepth and erosion lifespan of machine parts erosion random variable are confirmed. Accordingly,the mathematics model are given;5. The failure modes of spring are analysed, and the four failure modes of spring are conclused. Accodingly,the respective mathematics models of these failure modes are establised. A computing example that using the new theory is given;6. Three failure modes of friction electromagnetic clutch are analysed. Accordingly, the respective mathematics models of these failure modes are established. A computing example of DLMO-16 type clutch of J2108 offset press is given;7. Four strength failure modes of gear are analysed, and the respective reliability designing mathematics models of these modes are established accordingly. A computing example that using the new theory are given, and the value of reliability of gear whose parameters of gear are changed are analysed;8. The interface of multi-modes correlative machine parts reliability design software are presented which be programed using VB6.0.By the researching of this thesis,not only the theoretical basis for machine parts reliability design is provided, but also the driction is showed for modern design method of machine parts.
