The intensity and stability of high liquid limit clay are not enough strong to be roadbed of speedway. The work of this paper is to improve filling soil according to relational criterion, choose low price intensifier according to field condition, and confirm a now criterion to determine soil intensity. Lots of research was based on qualitative analysis ago, so now we have no a united standard. In this paper, the breakthrough is to quantify soil microstructure by fractal theory. The keystone of the paper is to number and dispose these figures which come from scan electronic microscope by computer, by which we can understand characters of reinforce soil microstructure and calculate fractal dimensions. This paper analyzed the relations of dimensions with time and dimensions with intensity, furthermore explained the grand characters of clay. When relate fractal dimensions to character indexes of clay, we can find that fractal dimensions are good to explain character of reinforce clay. In the end, this conclusion can be used to practice of roadbed engineering of speedway. |
