In recent years, the structural system of the short-leg shear wall has been extensively applied, because which has the advantage of the frame and shear wall. However, the mechanic models and calculation methods of the structural system are short of relative detailed research of the analytical theory.According to the variation principle, the governing equations and boundary conditions for the elastic analysis of the short-lag shear wall are derived by introducing the new cross displacement function which considers the effect of shear-lag and shear deformation. Based on the boundary conditions and stiff method, the integrated element stiffness matrix is developed, and the spatial stiffness matrix is proposed by spatial transformation.By adopting the Muti-Vertical-Line-Element-Model as the basic element for the elastoplatic analysis, the problem of the shear-lag effect and displacement coordination are considered by introducing the new cross displacement function, Then the elastoplatic analysis stiffness matrix is derived by the principle of minimum potential energy. Finally, the hysteretic model, the geometrical stiffness and the state space method are discussed. Finally, microcomputer-based program is developed. A series of examples are calculated and compared with other models, which show that the model is relative good accurate and reliable.
