Adding a little polypropylene to cement concrete, the physical properties and the mechanical behaviors of cement concrete will be greatly improved, and the compressive and the tensional strength and the elastic modulus about the cement concrete will also be promoted significantly. So the properties of cement concrete is exercised fully.The effects to beam for its normal section flexural capacity and rigidity and ductibility as well as other properties is discussed with different polypropylene fiber and different concrete strength by the bending test study herein on the reinforced concrete beams and the polypropylene fiber reinforced beams.Test and analysis results indicate that some little polypropylene fiber in cement concrete can not only reinforce the load_carrying capacity and rigidity, but also control the crack width and strengthen the ductibility of beams.According to the basic theory of the cement concrete and theproperties of polypropylene fiber, the calculating formulas about beam for the normal section load_carrying capacity and rigidity and ductibility are presented based on "the design code of concrete structure" (GB50010-2002).So it is more suitable for polypropylene fiber reinforced concrete being applied in structured components based on the favorable test results. Moreover, it is also proposed for the base of the design of the polypropylene fiber reinforced concrete in structural componentsThe experimental results compared favorably with those predicted by the formulas.
