The absence of energy sources and the pollution of environment is the two problems that embarrassed the development of internal-combustion engine engineering, and searching for alternative fuel is a important ways to solve these problems. Now CNG, LPG and alcohol are widely used as alternative fuel.Dimethyl Ether(DME) is promising alternative fuel discovered recently with ultra low exhaust in the world. A series of experience has shown that diesel engine could work more efficiently and softly with ultra low emission by DME. Considering the low production and high cost of DME, diesel fuel blended DME could be more economical. This can make full use of both the atomization property of DME and the lubrication property of diesel fuel. In this way , the emission of diesel engine could be reduced, and the wear and leak problem can be solved.This article collaborate with Guangxi Yucai Machine Co.Ltd to develop a DME blending control system for YC6108QC type diesel engine. Applying this system to diesel engine need only to make some small modification on low-pressure oil way. By electronic control, the fuel of the diesel engine can shift rapidly and conveniently between pure diesel oil and diesel oil blended with DME. Moreover, the blending ratio of DME could be regulated automaticly according to load.This article introduces the general scheme of diesel fuel blended with DMEand confirming the best blending-ratio of the two fuel. The system includes mainly mechanical and electronic controlling part. The mechanical part includes mainly the construction of experimental equipment and the designing of the blending-container. The electronic controlling part includes the designing of the circuit dealing with signal, central controK human communicating with machine and driving electromagnetic valve. The experiments include also two part, one is experiment of electromagnetic valve's flux character, the other is experiment of exhaust character. The flux character is used to control the ratio of DME. Andthe exhaust character of diesel engine is used to confirm the ratio of DME.This system is used to YC6108QC ,and the result shows that the controllability and reliability of this system has reached the expected aim ,and by combusting diesel fuel blending with 5%-20% DME, the exhaust can be greatly reduced, especially NOX and carbon smoke.
