Along with development of computer technology the method of CAD/CAM/CAE is used to the analysis and calculation of engineering comprehensively. Being most important technology of CAE FEM (Finite Element Method) is used in many domains availably. Contact problem is ubiquitous in factual engineering. Contact problem is a kind of altitudinal non-linear problem. FEM is the most effectual method to solve contact problem, but it is still immature in actual application. Contact problem is very complex and there are many factors determining the correctness of a contact problem analyze, so there are necessary to study the universal technique of problem analyze. In this paper we summarize the univeral technique used in elasticity contact problem analyze.Wheel/rail system is very important segment of crane design. In tradition crane design we only used Hertz formula to caculate the fatigue of wheel. When we do so we cannot get the detail distribution of system's stress and we are difficult to improve the structure as our wishes. Wheel/rail system analyze is a typical elasticity contact problem, so we can use FEM to analyse this system effectually. In this paper we used FEM contact method analysed the system from engine kinetics standpoint. Through the analysing we got the detail distribution of system's stress and analyzed influence of wheel figure. The results provide the data help us to advance the system design.Using FEM need the user be provided with good theoretic knowledge and acquaint himself with the structure. It is a difficult thing. In fact there are few people are familiar with FEM and in generic department usually only uses FEM to analyse several aptotic problems. So when we analyse a problem only need to change the size of model and magnitude of force. We can use existing FEM software and program language to build new system. New system will achieve concentrated management of FEM resource and model building by parameter. Reduce the qualifications of user's stuff and advance the efficiency of design.
