| Based on the experimental study of the axial-compression reinforced concrete columns wrapped with fiber reinforced plastics in different wrapping manners, the effectiveness of the factors such as wrapped with glass fiber reinforced plastics in different layers and spaces and sections (square, circle, square rounding-off) and stress level of reinforced concrete column are analyzed.The results indicate that the confinement of fiber sheet can increase the compressive strength and ultimate strain of reinforced concrete column remarkably. With the increase of layers or decrease of spaces, the compressive strength is increased. It is also found that the compressive strength of reinforced concrete column is relation to the section of column and the intensity of fiber sheet. But the stress level has not influence on the compressive strength of reinforced concrete column. And then, according to the study mentioned above, the simplified calculating formulas of axial-compression reinforced concrete column wrapped with glass fiber reinforced plastics is proposed. |
